Painting in the works

My precious friend asked me to paint her something. I'm super excited about this one- I'm thinking fairly neutral abstract with flecks of gold, coral and some dove gray with lots of texture and high lacquer gloss. I want to reflect her inner beach gal, but aire a sense of sophistication so she can grow old with the painting and put it anywhere in any house she has. Just some ideas rolling around for inspiration...stay tuned!

Ann Mashburn

Yesterday, I went into Ann Mashburn's store in Atlanta...I never wanted to leave. The glossy white walls and floors, color coded clothes and a nude by Sally King Benedict and purple orchid, my kind of place. The presentation is phenomenal- You go Ann Mashburn. Just a tid bit on her- she worked for VOGUE (shocker), has five girls and focuses on more of a lifestyle rather than beauty in her clothes. Her husband, Sid, has a matching store next to hers- too cute. Can I be the Mashburns when I grow up?

The two love birds featured in Matchbook Magazine in April 2012.
There we have the Mashburns- matching mood boards and all.

Sandal power

Now that it is officially spring, I have stumbled across many many sandals that would just perfectly top off any outfit. The great thing about sandals is that they can make a statement for less. You can re-wear an outfit from last spring and throw some of these babies on and be in trend with this season!

Thanks, Zara for making such colorful, adorable, affordable sandals.
These are not your run of the mill polyurethane sandals, real hair from Topshop.

I have been eyeing these at Topshop for a while. I am so fair skinned that sometimes black shoes look too severe on my feet, but these are so simple and chic!
J.crew pink. Love them.

Just a pop of neon from Matiko.

BCBGeneration definitely nailed the color block for this season. Throw on some mint colored jeans and bam. Rachel Bilson's pick on Piperlime and just featured in this month's InStyle.

Fun print wedge from Matiko. Spice it up!

Kate Long Stevenson

Sorry for the long absence! I have been toiling away on a project (photos to come next week!) In my business, I stumbled upon an artist, Kate Long Stevenson. She is awesome and her pieces are sold at various galleries including in Atlanta, Charleston and Chicago. I would like every single piece!!

I am obsessed with her nudes. I love that she captures the figure beautifully, but also includes the abstract element. The colors are amazing. Her works on paper are just as mind blowing!

All of these pieces, as well as her others, can be viewed on her Website. Enjoy have a great weekend!!

Bold jewels

Once again, excuse the belated post- between our two lives Spring has kicked into gear! Busy, busy. With many fun weddings to look forward to this Spring and Summer, I am hoping to re-use some dresses nut update my jewels. Accessories are so much fun and can truly make statement especially this season with so many bold colors! Also, it can save you some pennies if you are savvy. Here are some I have my eye on to go with my dresses...

Found this fabulous designer, Elva Fields, through Katie Armour's The Neo- Traditionalist. Thanks Katie! Check out this Elva's creations (listed at bottom) and Katie's blog...awesome!

Stones and gold are the trend- rhinestones...not so much. The stone and gold are a very chic understated glamorous look maybe not suited for a black tie affair, but most everything else! Sometimes I am hesitant to hop on the stone/gold wagon as it can scream big-hair Texas diva, but when done in small amounts steals the show. Granted, not all of these are wallet friendly and ... most of these can go with other outfits as well aka a versatile investment!!

NYC on the brain

Hello everyone- excuse us for the long absence. Ever since the last post about fashion week, I have had NYC on my mind. We lived there for 3 months in summer 2010, and talk about the BEST time. We explored every nook and cranny of the city determined to get everything out of our short time there. Ahh so many stories! But for now here are a few images from my black and white film camera that I captured- Happy Friday!

The cutest couple ever stepping out of their Central Park apt. They held onto each other the whole time.

This little girl was so precious in Washington Square one day. Her mother probably thought I was a freak I followed her around for about 10 minutes.

Fashion Week

New York is buzzing with people and the ultimate fashionistas. One day I hope to attend, but for now I will enjoy form afar. I love this week because of all the awesome photography and street style! Close you eyes and imagine you are there...
Love these photos of the city and fashion week atmosphere

Vogue's take on Fashion Week 2012 street style. I added my own photo for Nacho- there he is in his suit and below there he is up close and personal at the 2010 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. He ran by and high-fived the so-called "public crowd" at the match. Yep, his elbow was in my face.

More street style.
